Sometimes I wonder why it was decided that white should be the color of purity. Or why is it associated with both brides and ghosts. Is it really so pure when the specter of white contains all the other colors, is it not more blinding and subjugating and violent event, invading every space it can? Surely, black should be the purest color, for it's not tainted by anything else...
Last weekend was quite sunny so I've put on my new tartan dress. The funny thing is that now we have moved in a somewhat more rural part of the town and when we went to the local shop, lots of people were staring at me. I suppose that here even this is considered a flashy outfit...
I love this dress and it arrived super quickly, in a beautiful box. Plus it's made in UK! And with the tartan print, it's a true british spirit that it has!
I have so many photos now waiting to be edited but hardly get around to doing it because of allocating most of my time to learning for university. The bigger news is that we have moved, so that means new places for taking photos. If only my schedule would allow it. Because the spring (or summer??) is here and it's sunny and warm and flowers have started blooming and all I want to do is go outside...
There is a lot of choice this season when it comes to lady-like crystal jewelry and that can only make me happy! While I'm not the one to go for the super-colorful and fluorescent, I have managed to find some jewelry in more neutral tones. I think they have a great vintage feel, reminding me of the glorious eras of the 20s and 50s. Part of this look's jewelry come from Girl Intuitive and you should definitely check them out, because they have a wonderful range of elegant jewelry with styles going from tribal to rock to glamour. And I paired my jewelry with a fairly simple black velvet dress with contrasting white lace collar and cuffs and a pair of tall purple suede wedges, for the ultimate "vintage meets modern" look.
Girl Intuitive Muted Chic colorful bracelet, SheInside velvet dress, PersunMall transparent bracelet and earrings, Tom Ford cat eye sunglasses, vinatge tapestry purse
I love the Muted Chic bracelet, it has a sort of steampunk look with the aged chain and the overlaid crystals. Very elegant!
And an imposing baroque silver cross necklace from Girl Intuitive of which you will see more in next week's post!
A quick visit to Chateau Chambordt is always welcome. I love that place. And although the weather has been moody and had us stuck inside most of the time, I did spend a good holiday. Christmas and New Years seem to have passed so fast this year! How I'd wish to celebrate once more before university starts again! But I'm chained to the cart of time, like everyone else, with the horses sometimes galloping and sometimes drowsy, with the squeaky wheels and the bumps in the road. We keep moving on and occasionally lift our head to glance at the road we've left behind....
So I hope you all spent a wonderful holiday and wish you a wonderful 2014!
Dress and earrings: Romwe (Alexander McQueen inspired), Boots: Texto, Handbag: Persunmall
I've been quite busy lately, with exams and health problems too, so it's been a while since I took some photos. But here is a new series, with a gorgeous red lace dress from FoyMall, perfect for the festive season!! And I would also like to thank my friend Ariadna, for letting me take photos in her living room (which is absolutely gorgeous!).
I love Halloween! Not for the cheesy/slutty costumes or the candy (mmm, ok, the candy is definitely a plus), but for getting one day where I don't have to worry that people will give me strange looks for the way I dress. While others disguise themselves on this day, I reveal myself. And yes, I do also love the opportunity to replenish my stock of pumpkin-shaped candles (they're first on the buy list this year).
At the university, they are planning to celebrate Halloween and want us to dress up for the classes. I'm thinking demonologist would be nice. Already done witch, vampire, porcelain doll and russian princess. What about you? Will you dress up?

Front Row Shop top and spiked headband, Givenchy necklace, Romwe baroque earrings and cheesy cartoon bats curtesy of Sagakure @ deviantArt.
Gu deliciousness and a ticket for Chateau de Chenonceau - great delights for this season!!
The building next door caught fire - creepy!
Front Row Shop socks and some yummy wafers.
Little plush bat hanging by the door.
My Carvela boots which I love even more after they showed some similar ones in the trailer for American Horror Story.
And why not check out my Zombie Ice Cream recipe for some spine chilling yumminess?
I have long been in love with stories about women fighting for their love and Anna Karenina is one of them. She fights so hard that it brings about her destruction, making you wonder if there was nothing that could be done to save her before she jumped in front of that train...
Bellast Necklace and Crown Ring
My outfit was also inspired by the wonderful jewelry I got from Bellast. The Waterdrop and Rose Necklace reminded me of a necklace Keira Knightley wore in the latest Anna Karenina film. It has a beautiful purple teardrop crystal and many small rhinestones on the rose, it is also gold plated. It's very delicate and elegant! I also love the Crown Ring, it's one of my new favorite pieces and have been wearing it almost daily, it goes perfect with something elegant, but also with something more casual. It is made of quality copper plated with silver. I usually have a problem with silver rings because they turn my finger green, but this one hasn't! And for anyone who has watched BBC's series The White Queen, there is a very similar ring that Edward gives to Elisabeth. So, it is fit for a queen!
P.S.: I started med school, so I might be absent for longer periods of time until after the first year exams, but I will try to still keep you entertained with various photos and subjects!
It's been another couple of crazy months, with going to Vienna for my cousin's wedding, having to arm myself with a stock of EU regulations and laws to fight against discrimination based on nationality to get accepted into university in France (but that's a story I'll tell you another time if you are curious - all in all, I was victorious and will be studying Pharmacy starting this September), then shooting off to Romania for some event photography work and for holiday. And when I thought I could finally relax, another wisdom tooth decided to start coming out and give me quite the infernal pain for a week. And now I'm getting ready for a forest escapade and my first time sleeping in a tent. Oh and not to forget, I also started a new blog called The New Culinary Journey, check it out sometime!
In Vienna, right after my cousin's wedding. More photos from the city soon!
In Bucharest at Rock the City concert, waiting for Rammstein to come on stage. Only got to see them and the last 2 songs of Bullet for my Valentine, as my train was late (11 hours journey turned in 14 hours), followed by a quick run to the emergency hospital because of my wisdom tooth. Explains my weird face, no? But it was all worth it!
