Not too long ago, I took advantage of a free weekend before the exams and went along with my parents to La Baule, on the eastern coast of France. We stayed in a lovely hotel (not even sure how many stars it had, but plenty anyway), had some amazing food and bathed in the ocean water. It was really nice as the weather was just good. We also took a trip around and saw how salt is being extracted from the ocean. It was quite a dreamy weekend!
Despite the abnormal cold weather for this time of the year, some blooms have dared to finally show up. On the other hands, my eagerness to dress for spring has landed me with a runny nose, so lesson learned there. It might look like spring, but only from behind the windows. So dress warm and be patient, winter can't last that much longer now. After all, we were told global warming is coming, not the ice age.

So, what is your weather prognosis? Are we finally going to have some real spring time? Or are we to wait until next year, maybe?
Mademoiselle la Comtesse
The weather just doesn't want to make it easy on us this year, does it? Snow and frost in late March, people coming down with flu and cloudy skies almost every day are not the stuff of fairy tale Easters. The poor Easter Bunny will probably have its tail frozen!
So I have decided to wear a springy outfit to invite Spring in. I mean, it's about time, don't you think, Spring? Have you lost your maps this year? We're here and all begging you to hurry up!

It is just my luck that for the third time I want to go to a fashion week I end up having to leave. During the London FW, I was in France and 1 day before Paris FW, I had to leave to UK for an interview. But, fingers crossed it was worth it and I did well, it will be another month of chewing my nails before I find out. So to keep my spirits high, I embraced some relaxing green. I love emerald green and am quite happy that it has finally become popular enough to make it easier to find.

The lovely necklace that completed my look was kindly sponsored by eFoxCity. If you are not familiar with them, they have a wonderful array of clothing and accessories. You can find things like cheap party dresses with many styles inspired by celebrities and popular prom dresses to turn you into the queen of the party! Just look at these beauties, I'm in love with them:
And for the brides to be, how about escaping the cold weather for an exotic getaway with one of these lovely beach wedding dresses, wouldn't that be an unforgettable day/night?
It seems Spring is taking its time to arrive and yesterday was the last bit of sun before the snow started. It was already quite cold, so this lovely soft and warm sweater I got from SheInside was perfect for keeping me warm. It is quite a wide sweater, so I fitted it with a waist belt as I like having a small waist. And I like the effect, it is somewhat medieval looking. Can you imagine the chevallerie gloriously returning to the city, passing through this magnificently imposing gate?

It felt as if the wind was stirring up some dormant memories (and my hair as well!). Perhaps one day we will be the characters of legends with knights and damsels.
No, not the gambling kind of luck. That is ruinous and should be kept away from. But the hazardous kind, or beginner's luck. Like finding in the sales the dress you wanted and it's the last one and your size. Or when your train is late but you still manage to catch the next one because you decided to wear flats that day and were able to run faster. The luck of meeting people to your liking or of wining something pretty. Or simply, the luck of surviving to see the world grow and change...
This must be the most amazing online shop for accessories!! Boticca has a wast collection of carefully curated accessories from emerging designers. In the school for ladies and gents of the aristocracy, heraldry is a base study. Your coat of arms is your 'genetic business card'. There are so many blazons in the world, that it would take a lifetime to learn them all, but as a good little lady that I am, I have started with those closest to me. For example, the crowned porcupine visible above the doors of the Gothic Facade of Chateau de Blois, a symbol of Louis XII.

And to go with my good schoolgirl school-lady outfit, PersunMall have sent me this lovely satchel with a coat of arms of its own. The best thing about it - it has as many pockets to hide things in as does Catherine de Medici's Cabinet des Poisons (which can also be visited at Chateau de Blois). And the extra point - it also fits my camera! That is a true lady's bag of wonders - also available in claret red, light blue, orange and cream-khaki!
And don't forget about the giveaway!
I can't say that I was ever a big fan of V's Day. If you love someone, there shouldn't be required a special day to show it and do nice things together. And with my hectic schedule carrying me across 3 countries in a cyclic rhythm, it's hard to always be together during society imposed holidays. This is why this year I 'celebrated' with a DIY project. I have embellished a new pair of wedges to make them nicer. And here's a quick tutorial to show you how to do it as well!
You will need:
1. I chose these ankle strap purple suede wedges that I received from Wholesale-Orders. The suede is nice and soft so it was perfect for sewing through. You can chose any style of shoe for your project as long as it has ankle straps to apply embellishment to. But I do recommend that you have a look at Wholesale-Orders, they have an amazing range of shoes to chose from. They are light on the feet and well shaped. My only suggestion is that you chose one size bigger than your normal as I've found they run a bit small. Otherwise, I am extremely happy with them!
2. I had these swarovski crystals and a few tiny pearls sitting around and they proved to be ideal, if a bit small in number. But they compliment the shoes very well. Of course, you can choose and kind of embellishments you have/want. It can be all beads (a tribal pattern perhaps?) of multiple colors and shapes, small metal or fabric flowers and butterflies, or buttons... The possibilities are there for you to get creative. Also, mine were sew-on. If you choose glue-on instead, adjust materials accordingly and be more careful while gluing not to get everything dirty! And the more ambitious could even try embellishing the rim/heel of the shoes.
3. Make sure you have the proper needle and thread. Needle should be thin enough to go through the holes of the crystal mount but thick enough to go through the shoe fabric/leather. For thread, don't choose something very thin, as it increases chance of breakage. You don't want your pretty work ruined and the tiny bits lost, do you?
4. Make an arrangement on a flat surface before sewing the bits. Or sew them by hazard if you prefer. It doesn't have to be symmetrical, but if you want it to be, make sure you mirror the pattern when sewing the second strap. Then sew your crystals/pearls/beads with care, reinforcing all knots and making sure nothing is loose. Since shoe fabric is quite thick, it can be quite painful to sew without a thimble, so if you have one, use it (I sadly still don't own one...).
And that's it!! Really simple! An hour after the embellishing was done, I took my new shoes for a walk in the park.

And in order for the day to be complete, I scented myself with Amor Amor by Cacharel and took out some good reading. And some sexy music to set the mood while working/relaxing:
I believe I have told you before how I despise rain and how it depresses me. Frozen rain a.k.a snow is beautiful and joyful, but pure rain is spiteful and hates your hair! I guess I turn into a cat when it rains, looking out the window and smirking, then turning to some coconut-coated-chocolate-biscuits for comfort.
But this post is not about rain, but about that glorious day that sometimes shows up between weeks of murkiness, lighting up the sky and your spirit at the same time. A sunny day, a glowing day that invites you out of the house and begs you to wear your best clothes!
Lachatterie skirt, Promod bow cardigan, H&M Belt, Forever21 necklace, Primark bracelet
I must say, I love this Lachatterie skirt! The nice fabric, the lush pattern and its girly look mean a very happy me! I am also happy to have shot other great pieces by the brand for an AW12/13 preview, so in case you haven't seen them yet, check them out on my photography page!
And you too could be very happy with a new giveaway from Romwe and Street Belle Fashion!
It's been 3 years since I last saw snow. And now, having come to Romania for a month, I got to remember my childhood of skipping through the now, sliding and making angels. I adore snow and snow covered landscapes. Regardless of the fact that society comes to a halt, the hazy whiteness of everything is fantastical and dream-worthy!

I got these lovely gifts from the sales before leaving and I have already been wearing them abusively. Especially the gloves, they are great for the winter and feel so soft!
